A convenient new feature of the MPP application this year enables you to complete your application for the program and upload most of the other supplemental required materials directly onto the site.  Please go to the UCLA Graduate Division Online Application for more information on the process and to apply.  The UCLA Graduate Division Online Application consists of the application form and supporting documents, which must be submitted with a $70 (for U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents) or $90.00 (for all other applicants) on-line payment no later than January 10th for admission in the following fall.

You will be required to upload the following documents, so please have them prepared.

  • Transcripts from each college or university attended in the U.S. or abroad (Only 1 Official version of your bachelors degree-granting institution's transcripts or equivalent will be required to be sent through regular mail).
  • GRE Scores
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP)
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Current Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)

International students must also submit:

  • English-language requirement scores (TOEFL or IETS); and a
  • Confidential Financial Statement (CFS)


In addition to uploading the required documents onto the UCLA Graduate Division Online Application site, we ask that you upload the following Departmental Supplement documents to the Supporting Documents Upload area of the application, specific to our department.  This is an area where you can upload additional documents or forms required by the MPP Program:

Please complete the following Worksheet for Calculating Jr/Sr GPA (Grade Point Average)  save a copy, and then upload it onto the supporting documents area of the site. Do the same for the following two required items listed below.

  • JR/SR GPA WORKSHEET: Complete the Jr/Sr GPA Worksheet for Calculating Jr/Sr GPA (Grade Point Average).  See this SAMPLE to reference how it should look.
  • QUANTITATIVE TRAINING FORM: A list of quantitative undergraduate courses (e.g. statistics, micro-economics, calculus, and any others where the quantitative nature of the course is not apparent in the title) and the letter grade received in each of those courses. 
  • POLICY INTERESTS FORM: A list of you Policy areas of interest.  This is only to give us some indication of what you are likely to be focusing on during your studies here.  You are not bound to this list in any way.

 Please mail ONLY ONE COPY OF YOUR OFFICIAL  bachelor's degree-granting institution's transcripts or equivalent to:

Be sure to specify “MPP Admissions,” otherwise your transcripts may be delivered to one of the other Departments at the School of Public Affairs and your transcript processing will be delayed.
